Former Ohio State and current Miami quarterback Tate Martell will be eligible to play for the Hurricanes this season.
The transferring star was able to receive a hardship waiver from the NCAA in order to avoid sitting out a year. He appears to have gotten the waiver with the help of Ohio State and also possibly because of their coaching change.
While Martell was the highest rated recruit of Miami’s current quarterbacks, it’s not definite that he will start. Both sophomore N’Kosi Perry and former high 4-star Jarren Williams could also potentially play. However, the transfer’s high school highlights show that he is a very talented player:
