College football is back, and that also means that my weekly playoff eliminator is back. For those of you who don’t remember, each week I break down which teams are still in the playoff hunt and which teams have knocked themselves out with losses the prior weekend. At the start of the season, technically everyone is still in it, which is why I have most of the teams highlighted, but in reality, a lot of the group of five teams don’t have a fighting chance at all. For this purpose, I’ll give them a chance to make the dance.
Teams that are likely knocked out already either suffered brutal losses this weekend or have played two games already. BYU failed to impress against Portland State last weekend before getting shutout against LSU. UNLV, Baylor, Georgia State, and East Carolina all lost to FCS schools. Other teams just got dominated.
