1. Jacksonville Jaguars
Alabama OT Evan Neal: Lots of scouts and analysts are predicting that Jacksonville takes Hutchinson or Walker. If they do that then they are moronic. The Jaguars main goal should be to protect Trevor Lawrence, and Neal is the best prospect in this years draft. He’s 6’7, 350 pounds and will lock down either the left or right tackle position.
2. Detroit Lions
Michigan DE Aidan Hutchinson: Matt Campbell wants mean and gritty players. The offensive line is filled with those type of players like Sewell, Ragnow, and Decker; now it’s time to add those guys to the defensive line. Hutchinson is a tough player that tallied 14 sacks in 2021 and had him in the Heisman race.
3. Houston Texans
Georgia DE Travon Walker: No players draft stock has flown up the board more than Walkers. Walker made 37 tackles and 6 sacks on an absolutely loaded Bulldog defensive line. Edge is a huge gap for Houston as they only recorded 32 total sacks in 2021 and if they add Walker at three then they can grab a defensive back at thirteen.
4. New York Jets
NC State OT Ikem Ekwonu: The Jets have a lot of needs; offensive tackle, defensive back, edge rusher, and everything else. Ekwonu is the best available at number four as he’s a heavy handed run blocker and quick on his feet in pass protection at 6’4, 320. Ekwonu on the other side of a healthy Mekhi Becton will be vital for Zach Wilson.
5. New York Giants
Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux: Thibodeaux’s stock has dropped a bit, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a stud. The Oregon Duck made 49 tackles and 7 sacks off the edge; exactly what the Giants need alongside Leonard Williams. Tackles a concern, but they have the seventh overall pick in addition to the fifth.
6. Carolina Panthers
Liberty QB Malik Willis: Robbie Anderson doesn’t want the best available option in Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold stinks. Willis would be a good fit with Carolina as he’s got a big arm and works well outside of the pocket. He’ll also have the chance to develop nicely with check down players like Christian McCaffrey and Tommy Tremble. Hopefully this is the new longer term option in Charlotte.
7. New York Giants via CHI
Mississippi State OT Charles Cross: And the Giants are back on the clock. Two big needs for the Giants are edge and tackle and they grabbed a hell of an edge rusher at number five. Now they need a tackle and Charles Cross is an elite pass protector that’s gotten lost in the shuffle of Neal and Ekwonu. Cross is 6’5 and moves very fluidly, they type of player you build an offensive line around.
8. Atlanta Falcons
USC WR Drake London: At this point I could go play wideout for Atlanta. With Julio gone and Ridley suspended, the top two options for Mariota are Pitts and Byrd. Drafting Drake London would be an immediate boost to the Falcons offense as London stands at 6’5 and caught 88 balls for 1,084 yards in 2021.
9. Seattle Seahawks via DEN
Pittsburgh QB Kenny Pickett: Seattle was praying that Willis fell into their lap, but with Carolina taking him, they still need to address the QB position. The two gloved assassin is smart in the pocket and shows tremendous patience. This is the guy that Seattle needs to compete in a LOADED NFC West.
10. New York Jets via SEA
Notre Dame S Kyle Hamilton: Hamilton is a stud. He plays sideline to sideline, can drop down in the slot or the box, and make a quarterback scared to throw in his direction. The Jets haven’t had a premiere safety since they dealt Jamal Adams, and they have the opportunity to get one here at number ten.
11. Washington Commanders
Cincinnati CB Sauce Gardner: Washington’s defensive backfield is their largest need and with a generational talent at corner available here, they need to draft Sauce. Gardner didn’t allow a touchdown in his time at Cincinnati and will be a nice fit on a pretty raw Washington defense.
12. Minnesota Vikings
LSU CB Derek Stingley: Much like the Jets, the Vikings have a lot of needs like interior offensive line and tight end, but none bigger than corner. Pat Peterson is old and none of the young guys on the roster have really emerged so adding Stingley to be the future of the defensive backfield is vital.
13. Houston Texans via CLE
Washington CB Trent McDuffie: With a lot of holes on the roster and addressing edge at three, we’ll see another defensive back come off the board. McDuffie plays very aggressive like Byron Murphy. His ability in man coverage is his biggest asset and will be a solid addition to guard A.J. Brown and Christian Kirk.
14. Baltimore Ravens
Florida State DE Jermaine Johnson: The Ravens were SO CLOSE to bringing Za’Darius Smith back for the 2022 season, but he eventually backed out and signed with the Vikings. After losing Judon, they are desperate for a pass rusher. Johnson was seventh in the nation in sacks with 12 in 2021 and will start right off the rip for the Ravens.
15. Philadelphia Eagles via MIA
Ohio State WR Garrett Wilson: It’s a recurring thing at this point; the Eagles are going to draft another receiver. They missed on Reagor, seemed to hit with Smith, and I think that Wilson will be the Eagles new number one. Wilson is dynamic. He caught 70 balls for 1,058 yards and 12 touchdowns with Ohio State in 2021. Big win for the Eagles here.
16. New Orleans Saints via PHI
Alabama WR Jameson Williams: Back to back pass catcher alert. The Saints have two first rounders this draft and with Michael Thomas’s health being uncertain, they are clamoring for a good pass catcher for Jameis Winston. The only concern with Williams is that he tore his ACL and is currently recovering, but if he comes back healthy he’ll be a great player for the Saints.
17. Los Angeles Chargers
Northern Iowa OT Trevor Penning: Los Angeles didn’t bring Bulaga back and are in need of another offensive tackle. Rashawn Slater will lock down the left tackle spot, and the nasty and tough Penning will play right tackle. A major win for Justin Herbert in a pass rusher heavy AFC West.
18. Philadelphia Eagles
Clemson CB Andrew Booth: Philly addresses the receiver debacle at fifteen and now corner is another need. Andrew Booth would have been a top twelve pick had he not underwent sports hernia surgery so his sliding draft stock is good for the Eagles. Booth recorded 37 tackles and 3 interceptions in 2021 for the Tigers.
19. New Orleans Saints
Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder: Jameis Winston is coming off a knee injury, Andy Dalton stinks, and Taysom Hill is a tight end now. Desmond Ridder is the most pro ready quarterback in the draft and has a really good shot to start from day one in New Orleans. Could he possibly be the next long term guy for the Saints like.. dare I say Drew Brees. Maybe?
20. Pittsburgh Steelers
Boston College G Zion Johnson: While QB is a concern for the Steelers, the interior offensive line is worse. All three interior positions in Pittsburgh are up for grabs and if they draft Johnson, he’ll come in and start at either guard or center. He has an unreal football IQ and is a big bodied mauler. One of my favorite players in the draft.
21. New England Patriots
Utah LB Devin Lloyd: I was in attendance for the Bills vs Patriots playoff game and New England’s linebacking core got exposed. A true gutting of that position is what was needed and they properly conducted it. Lloyd is one of the best pure athletes available and will elevate the Patriots defensive play.
22. Green Bay Packers via LV
Ohio State WR Chris Olave: You can’t really replace Davante Adams; you can try, but there’s no way to duplicate him. Chris Olave though could come in and be a solid receiver one right from the jump with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. The shifty route runner from OSU reeled in 65 balls for 936 and 13 touchdowns in 2021.
23. Arizona Cardinals
Purdue DE George Karlaftis: Chandler Jones is going to be wearing silver and black next season and J.J. Watts health is an ongoing concern. Karlaftis has a high motor and kept Purdue relevant this season as he made 36 tackles and 4.5 sacks. He’ll be a nice addition to a defense with dynamic players like Isaiah Simmons and Zaven Collins.
24. Dallas Cowboys
Georgia DT Jordan Davis: Dallas has solid edge defenders in Lawrence and Fowler, but the middle is a weak spot. Jordan Davis’s 6’6, 340 pound frame coupled with his quickness makes him an immediate plug and play guy in Dallas. The 2021 Bednarik Award winner made 32 tackles and 2 sacks as an interior defender on a stacked Georgia defense.
25. Buffalo Bills
Texas A&M G Kenyon Green: The Bills have a very well rounded roster with little holes, but left guard is their biggest need. Bringing in the very versatile Kenyon Green means that they get two maulers at both guard positions; Roger Saffold and Green. Buffalo loves using Josh Allen in the run game and having Green out front would be nice.
26. Tennessee Titans
Georgia DT Devonte Wyatt: Devonte Wyatt was the unsung hero on the Bulldog defensive line. He tallied 39 tackles with 2.5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles in 2021. This would be a nice draft day addition to have play alongside Harold Landry and Jeff Simmons.
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Michigan S Daxton Hill: Hills draft stock has been bolstered since the combine and has emerged as the second best safety in this years draft. He’s very aggressive and plays stout in run support. The youthful, BIG Ten duo of Hill and Winfield Jr. would be nice to have in a weak receiver division, the NFC South.
28. Green Bay Packers
Minnesota DE Boye Mafe: Green Bay lost Za’Darius Smith in free agency to the Vikings and as a team lacked in getting to the quarterback. Mafes lean build gives him the ability to bend the edge very well; that’s how he racked up 7 sacks for the Golden Gophers in 2021.
29. Kansas City Chiefs via MIA
Florida CB Kaiir Elam: The Chiefs defensive backfield is young and very raw so adding Elam to the mix will give him the opportunity to compete for a starting spot. Elam went up against very good receivers in 2021 in a good SEC; he broke up 5 passes and picked off a pass.
30. Kansas City Chiefs
Penn State WR Jahan Dotson: And Kansas City is back on the clock. The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill in free agency and are looking for guys to pickup the slack from that loss. Dotson had great production at Penn State as he caught 91 balls and 1,182 yards. He’ll be a nice weapon in the arsenal for Mahomes.
31. Cincinnati Bengals
Iowa C Tyler Linderbaum: Linderbaum is one of the top talents in this years draft as he moves a lot like Jason Kelce. Cincinnati made a lot of big time moves on the offensive line and adding Linderbaum to a revamped front five should make them a favorite to go back to the Super Bowl.
32. Detroit Lions via LAR
Arkansas WR Treylon Burks: While QB is a concern for Detroit, Howell and Corral are still available and they hold the second pick in the second round. That means they can add the 6’3 pass catcher at 32 and then their future quarterback in the second round. This would be the ideal draft for Detroit.
