Some teams look like they have Final Four potential, and then lose in the first round. Other teams are expected to have an early exit, and then make a deep run. Choose wisely when picking these teams in your bracket.
Tennessee Volunteers
It’s all about which Tennessee team shows up to play in the tournament. Is it going to be the dominant Tennessee team that was once ranked #1 in the nation? Or the team that got beat up by Auburn in the SEC Championship game.
Virginia Cavaliers
I seriously doubt #1 seed Virginia would lose to another #16 seed…..………but you never know.
Villanova Wildcats
It’s fair to say that Villanova has had a lot of success recently in the NCAA Tournament. While this season hasn’t been spectacular, Nova enters the tourney as a top 25 team. But will they be able to make a deep run? Their first opponent, Saint Mary’s, is a team that you might not want to sleep on after they upset Gonzaga in the WCC Championship game. And if Villanova does win that game, they would most likely play a #3 Purdue team coming off an upset loss in the B1G tournament in the next round of the South bracket.
Virginia Tech Hokies
With Justin Robinson coming back for the #4 seeded Hokies, VT could end up being a tough opponent for Duke in the sweet sixteen. However, Virginia Tech has not been able to get out of the first round in the last two NCAA tournaments. Pick at your own risk.
