Breaking: Julio Jones Signs With Buccaneers

Earlier today, former Titans and Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Adam Schefter first reported that the 33 year-old All-Pro receiver would be teaming up with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay for the 2022 season. No other details of the contract have been reported.

Jones spent last season with the Tennessee Titans after spending the prior ten seasons with Atlanta. In his eleven year career, Jones has caught 946 passes for 14,226 yards and 86 touchdowns. Over that time, he’s made five All-Pro Teams, seven Pro Bowls, and twice led the NFL in receiving yards. This addition will be integral to the Buccaneers offense as WR Chris Godwin tore his ACL and MCL late last season and is currently working his way back.

The signing of Jones comes on the heels of Tampa Bay adding another veteran weapon. Tampa Bay signed former Giants and Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph on July 20th. After spending ten seasons in Minnesota, Rudolph signed with the Giants for the 2021 season where he caught 26 passes for 257 yards and a touchdown. Rudolph is currently 32 years-old and will turn 33 midway through the 2022 season.
