The last team that truly is in contention is Ohio State, and at this point I’m not sure if they really have a chance. They really did themselves in with that embarrassment in Kinnick. So let’s get on with this.
The Case For- Wins
For Ohio State it all comes down to their conference. The top-heavy B1G East gave the Buckeyes a great set of wins, the win against Michigan State set them up perfectly after the come from behind dub against the Nittany Lions from Penn State. It will be very interesting to see how this all plays out, as they have no shortage of big wins. Their offensive dominance has been second to none (okay they’re actually four spots from number 1) but the emergence of J.K. Dobbins and the power of Mike Weber has continued to lead the way for the Bucks.
The Case Against- Iowa
It all dates back to that November 4th trip to Des Moines, Iowa. My boy J.T. threw four picks in a game that led to a 31 (!!!) point blowout to a mediocre Hawkeyes team that will be decent in years to come, but that doesn’t matter to the Playoff this year. That loss has devastated Ohio State’s playoff chances to the max.
Do They Get In?
YES. Now this is with all my bias towards Ohio State in this. As I sit here getting ready to go to Lucas Oil Stadium to watch the Buckeyes in action, I truly believe that Ohio State gets in as absolute CHAOS goes down this weekend.
Have a great Champ Week people.
