I am back after a week’s absence from previews. Take a second to think of how gruesome last week’s slate of games was. Lots of dead bodies left on a lot of football fields. Now that we’ve had our moment of silence, we’re gonna get straight to it.

Upset(s) of the Week:

#4 Penn State at Iowa/#8 Michigan at Purdue

Let’s get weird this weekend in the B1G. For Penn State to win this game, they have to control the line of scrimmage, not only on the offensive side of the ball, but they also have to get pressure on Iowa quarterback Nathan Stanley. On the other side of the field, Iowa has to contain Heisman hopeful Saquon Barkley. At Kinnick Stadium, playing under the lights, Hawkeyes win the line of scrimmage battle and pull off the upset.

Now to the more head-scratching of the two picks (depends on how you see it): Purdue beating Michigan. The Boilermakers are one of the most surprising teams this year in the B1G. They played a good Louisville team down to the wire, and they have dominated two quality opponents in Missouri and Ohio. Michigan may also have one of the worst red zone offenses in the nation, and quite possibly the most overrated team in the nation. First year coach Jeff Brohm gets a marquee home win for the Boilermakers.

Toss-Up Game:

#17 Miss St at #11 Georgia:

After completely destroying the LSU Tigers, the Bulldogs are out to prove that they are for real (they aren’t). Having this momentum, though, could very well lead them to upsetting the Bulldogs on the road. Georgia, coming off of a dominant win against lowly Samford, will look to keep up their own momentum. Ultimately, Nick Chubb will be the main catalyst as to why Georgia remains undefeated.

Game of the Week:

#16 TCU at #6 Oklahoma St

After last week’s offensive showing, the Cowboy Kool-Aid has never tasted sweeter. Mason Rudolph put on a clinic, throwing for 497 yards and five touchdowns. This TCU defense is a completely different beast than Pittsburgh’s pitiful D, though. The Horned Frogs look to come into Stillwater and upset the Cowboys, but Rudolph always delivers, no matter the time of year. With both teams looking to cement themselves as national contenders, look out for one of the best games of the year thus far.
