After a WILD slate of games in week 7, we saw 7 of the top 25 teams lose. Four of those were in the top ten. Let’s all catch our breath, and take a peek into what lies ahead for this week in college football.
Upset of the Week:
#10 Oklahoma St at Texas
After pushing Oklahoma to the brink of what would’ve been another upset in week 7, Texas should be playing with a lot of confidence going into this game. Playing in front of home fans and having had a few decent weeks in a row on both sides of the ball, the Longhorns are looking to get back on the right track. On the opposite side of the field, Mason Rudolph is helping save OK State’s season, just like that one reindeer helped save Christmas. They are scorching hot on the offensive side of the ball, and I look forward to seeing Mason chuck that ball like Uncle Rico.
Toss up of the Week:
#19 Michigan at #2 Penn State
Look, I’m not saying I’m cheering for TTUN (That Team Up North) to win this weekend, because if it were possible for two teams to lose in the same game, this is one of those games that I’d be pulling for. But I look for the Nittany Lions defense to get after that shitty quarterback that the Wolverines have back there. The only thing that keeps the Wolverines close is their defense, which is eager to put a dent in Saquon Barkley’s Heisman chances. James Franklin owns Harbaugh, just like another B1G coach….
Game of the Week:
#11 USC at #13 Notre Dame
Probably one of the most under-the-radar teams this year, Notre Dame comes into this huge matchup with presumably bigger playoff implications on the line. After this game, one of these teams will have two losses, and may I remind you, no two loss team has made the playoff yet. This will be the first of many more games with major implications for the playoff before the end of the season.
