Michigan State vs. Ohio State
On paper, this one should be a blowout, but this Michigan State team has some talent and good at least make this game close at home. I don’t think the Buckeyes will cover the large spread. Losing this game could be disastrous for Ohio State as it could effectively end their chances for the playoffs without a path to the conference championship.
Oklahoma State vs. TCU
TCU has been playing great defense lately, but if Mason Rudolph and the Cowboys can go into Fort Worth and take advantage of the Horned Frogs, OSU could force themselves into the playoff conversation. It’ll be interesting to see how the committee views that loss to Central Michigan.
Colorado vs. Washington State
This one could honestly go either way, but in all honest, who doesn’t want to see the Buffs succeed? This will still keep the scenario for the division deciding Apple Cup and will make the Colorado-Utah match-up next week all that more enticing.
Indiana vs. Michigan
If Indiana could pull this one off, the Big Ten East would go up in flames. Without Wilton Speight for the foreseeable future, the Wolverines could be in trouble. Indiana has a pretty good defense and they were almost able to upset Penn State last week, even if the final score doesn’t suggest that. This one is kind of a long-shot, but it’s plausible.
Chattanooga vs. Alabama
Ah, Alabama’s annual mid-November cupcake game. This would categorize as the upset of the century, which is why there is no chance of it happening. Regardless, I still have Chattanooga covering the 50+ point spread surprisingly.
Wake Forest vs. Clemson
Wake Forest winning this game would effectively clinch the division for Louisville. To make things all that more interesting, with Louisville’s loss this week, a conference who did look like they could wind up with two playoff teams may have none.
Oklahoma vs. West Virginia
Both of these teams have a great deal of upward mobility in the rankings because of their remaining schedules. This is almost a de-facto Big 12 Championship. Oklahoma winning in Morgantown would be a good resume booster, and with Houston inevitably getting back into the top 25 this week, the Sooners losses won’t look so bad.
