In one of the best Cinderella runs ever, the Loyola Chicago Ramblers took down everyone in their path to make it all the way to the Final Four in San Antonio. At the end of the first half, it looked as if Loyola was destined for the title game. A great first half gave the Ramblers a 29-22 lead at half before the lead hit 10 at one point. Michigan was able to come back and crush the dreams of most of America by a score of 69-57.
The 11-seed Missouri Valley Champions had a fantastic season, finishing at 32-6 overall, Sister Jean became the face of a movement, and Clayton Custer and the Ramblers captured the hearts of America. Let’s relive the best moments of their miraculous run here.
Congratulations to Loyola Chicago on the run of a lifetime. One can only hope that we will see them again next year.
