As we watched the reveal of the 68 team field for the NCAA Mens Basketball Tournament, let’s remember the past. The committee has always, in my uneducated opinion (see Delphi Bracketology 2017), gotten teams wrong in previous years.
This year, however, I feel like the committee finally got it right. They gave an at-large bid to mid-major, Belmont. Rick Byrd and co. have been an exceptional ball club for quite a while now. Though not everyone will agree that they should be in, I was extremely happy to see that the Bruins made the cut.
I definitely think they are a team that could make some noise against against Temple. Maryland is the fourth youngest team in the nation which could benefit Belmont. Every game from here on out will be a dog fight, and I definitely will take them in any fight.
