As soon as I was hired to write for Student Union, I was asked who my teams were. I’m a So Cal kid so I said UCLA, SD Chargers (I won’t accept the LA), LA Angels, Lakers, and Anaheim Ducks. I’m also a Freshman at GCU so i root for them as well. Then I murmured out the words of my favorite all around college team…

Texas A&M Aggies.

It was safe to say I was roasted to hell and back. November records for football, always blowing it in tourney play for basketball, at least they’re decent at baseball. And of course, who can forget “Johnny Football” Manziel. I understand A&M isn’t the greatest program, but every year they get some love from ESPN and Bleacher Report during the off season… AMAZING. And then, it seems as soon as we play over 5-6 games, all cylinders decide to stop and they shit the bed.

Now, we can tack this embarrassment onto my A&M Laughing Stock:

Yes, Jimbo Fisher, the new $75 Million Coach for the Aggies, was given a Trophy in which it states Texas A&M is the CFB Champs  for 20–. REALLY. WE CAN’T EVEN GO .500 IN SEC PLAY AND WE’RE GONNA DO THIS. This is easily 20x worse than UCF being “National Champs”. My team is turning into a walking Onion article. This is like when Michael Scott from The Office (One of the best shows ever dont @ me) bought himself a “Worlds Greatest Boss” mug, but it’s somehow more depressing. I get it is Jimbo Fisher’s first season at College Station, but really. Spring Ball hasn’t even begun to lace up its cleats and were gonna do this. Let’s take a look at the last time Texas A&M won a National Championship for football:

The Texas A&M Aggie’s have earned three national titles (1919, 1927 and 1939)

Oh, Okay. Well, how about any 10+ win seasons….

“Since 1990, Texas A&M has had 5 10+ win seasons…”

I’m no math whiz, but if I’m not wrong, the titles are from over 70 years ago. The Allied Powers defeated the Nazis after A&M won their most recent National Championship. To quote someone from our slack chat as they tagged me and sent the pic of this trophy, “JFC”. I’ll let you work that out. This is no way shape or form should jinx the upcoming season right…..

I don’t know if it’s the winless Novembers, constant domination by Alabama/LSU/any other SEC team except Vanderbilt and Kentucky, or just all of the very questionable things A&M does, but I always find myself saying, “What in the hell is going on?”. So, if you ever see me on twitter ranting about something A&M related, please, just let it happen.

So, hold your teams a little tonight and give them some love. Not because you’re going to be losing them anytime soon, but because they decided to not do anything like this. (Except Virginia Tech, that trophy case was very dumb.)
