North Dakota State +9.5 at Colorado

Even though I lost my week 0 bet of Hawaii -39 vs Delaware State, week 1 feels like the real start of the season so we don’t care about a one in the loss column. A game I’ve been big on since the schedule released was North Dakota State traveling to Boulder to play Colorado and I’m picking North Dakota State -9.5. The Bison return six starters on offense from last season, including QB Cam Miller, and nine starters on defense. They’re coming off an 11-4 season last year where they lost only two games by more than ten points. NDSU’s hard nosed rushing attacked against Colorado’s abysmal rushing defense that allowed 2,377 yards on the ground last year is a recipe for the Bison to cover. Bet on the Bison -9.5.

North Carolina -2.5 at Minnesota

As much as I’d like to row the boats with P.J. Fleck and the Golden Gophers tonight, I simply don’t have faith in Minnesota despite them brining back loads of starters on both sides of the ball. My lack of faith is probably due to the fact that those players went 6-7 in 2023 and finished the season 1-4. While UNC is without Drake Maye this year, they bring in the experienced Max Johnson. That might not mean the Tar Heels will have a fruitful season, but it’ll ensure at least a three point win over Minnesota. Tonight, we’re looking to move to 2-1 on the season with our picks, so bet on North Carolina -2.5.
