On January 20th reports expect Feleipe Franks to transfer to Arkansas. The former Florida Gators QB entered the transfer portal after dislocating his ankle against Kentucky this season. Kyle Trask took over and impressed, pushing Franks away from a return to Gainsville.
While many expected Feleipe Franks to transfer, it was uncertain where he would end up at. Sam Pittman and his Arkansas staff knew they need quarterback talent and Franks was right for the job. Last year Arkansas played five different quarterbacks and it was evident that change was needed. In new OC Kendall Briles’ system, Franks should hopefully be able to benefit from a new scheme and new scenery.
After a rough start to his Gator career, Franks was just beginning to come into his own in Dan Mullen’s system. While Arkansas isn’t expected to compete for the SEC West in the near future, Feleipe Franks having a great season would be a welcome surprise for downtrodden Razorback fans.
