I was just absolutely destroyed at Madden. If anyone didn’t hear, Student Union is hosting a tournament consisting of three group stage games followed by a double-elimination tournament with eight teams. Of course, I’m all in- it’s for a great cause. We as a site are aiming to raise $1,000 for the Jackie Robinson Foundation, which gives scholarships to minority youths for higher education. The link to donate can be found here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/su-sports-for-the-jackie-robinson-foundation?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf+share-flow-1.
I knew I was in an uphill battle. Being matched up with Anthony Ventura in the first game was not great. For one, I have not touched Madden in probably three months. Almost all my time lately has been dedicated to MLB the Show 20 with some 2k mixed in. I’m by no means great at Madden, but I can hold my own. But not against Ant. If anyone hasn’t had the pleasure of taking him on, please do so before you make fun of me. It’s like he knew every play I was running on offense, resulting in six interceptions that were returned for touchdowns. He’s basically pro.
I blame everything on that bum Tom Brady. For the record, teams were given to us randomly. As a diehard Bills fan, I would never choose to play as the Patriots. If you take away those picks, I would’ve only lost 42-7. Another spin zone: Julian Edelman now leads the league in receptions. We are back in action Thursday night at 9 PM against the Steelers. Here’s to hoping things go better.
