Gameday Preview Weeks 11 & 12: Benedict Arnold Sucks

Week 11

East Lansing, Michigan: Ohio State @ Michigan State

Aside from the 2017 debacle, this has been one of the most competitive games in the Big Ten the last few years. Ohio State fans and Michigan State fans share a disdain for the team in Ann Arbor. Whether MSU or OSU hosts, the atmosphere is phenomenal. With a spot in the Big Ten title game potentially on the line, East Lansing will be amped up. #RealRivalry

Honorable Mentions

Florida State @ Notre Dame

Last time these two teams met it definitely was not controversial at all.

Liberty @ Virginia

Imagine if Liberty wins this game. Virginia is supposedly making progress. Liberty has a couple intriguing wins. I’d be more intrigued if UVA would play James Madison.

Virginia Tech @ Pittsburgh

This is for control of the Big East like 20 years ago. Those were simpler times.

Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma

Please remind me why this is not the last game of the season for these teams. Either way, should be fun. This rivalry definitely lacks the national implications it had last season.

Auburn @ Georgia

The Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. You never know what’ll happen here. Auburn should be out for blood after getting tattoo’d in the SEC title game.

Week 12

West Point, New York: Colgate @ Army

Gameday always takes a day off of the P5 matchups. this is the perfect week to do so. Army has strung together two phenomenal seasons and will be looking to build momentum going into the Army-Navy game. Two very traditional powers will meet at West Point, which is one of the most beautiful places in America. On the 17th of November, there may even be a nice breeze of snow. At the site where Benedict Arnold decided he liked dull, unsweet tea more than freedom, HBO, Tim Riggins, and Miracles on Ice, let’s host College Gameday. Speaking of HBO, imagine Benedict Arnold watching The Wire, or in a fist fight with Tim Riggins.

Honorable Mentions

Miami (FL) @ Virginia Tech

Not as cool as West Point. Tech will win. I’m not sold on Miami ever being able to make that leap again. The U will never be back. The 80’s was almost 40 damn years ago. Get over it.

West Virginia @ Oklahoma State

West Virginia should be playing Pitt this late in the season. Two great offenses are going to entice gamblers to take the over. Bring the old Big East back together.
