The table is officially set for two SEC teams in the CFP. We’ve all been bamboozled. The BCS is alive and well under new management. The Playoff is a scam.
I’m fine with LSU in the top spot. They’ve played in arguably all the biggest games of the season and won all of those games. The Texas win never had a lot of luster for me. I don’t think Texas is good. Furthermore, seeing Texas at 19 in the second ranking is absolutely infuriating. This is an above-average Texas team that is getting benefit of the doubt it simply does not deserve. They’re not the 19th best team in America, hell they’re not one of the 25 best teams in the nation! My goodness.
Georgia and Alabama at 4 and 5 respectively irks me. It’s painfully obvious that this is posturing to getting at least one of these teams in the playoff. Let’s say Georgia beats LSU and we have one-loss teams in LSU, Bama and Georgia. Do all three get in with a Clemson or Ohio State having the privilege of playing in the SEC invitational? It’s so stupid. These regular season games mean nothing.
Don’t even get me started on the bottom of the poll. I have already mentioned Texas at 19. Who the hell have they beaten aside from a sneaky-decent Kansas State team? That win is worth all kinds of transitive property points I guess. Hats off to Texas for beating Kansas State AND Oklahoma this past Saturday, whatever.
It’s a miracle to me that they’re not ranked above Cincinnati and Memphis, who are both better football teams than Texas! Speaking of teams better than Texas, Boise State at 21 is a goddam crime and I won’t stand for it. That is a top-15 team being punished for one bad loss. A close loss at that.
Baylor is 9-0 in a power conference. But hey, who cares? Florida has two VERY good losses! Can’t climb the poll without some quality losses. Same goes for Auburn. Yes, they beat Oregon, who is legitimately really good. But since then they’ve lost twice. Albeit, they’re losses to good teams. But two teams with two losses each should not be ahead of an undefeated Baylor and I do not care who those losses were to.
I’m fine with Utah at 7. They lost a close game on the road. Ranked PAC 12 teams on the road on Friday night get the benefit of the doubt from me.
Oregon at 6 is good.
Minnesota should be 5. This is a disaster.
WHERE THE HELL IS INDIANA!? OKLAHOMA STATE!? KANSAS STATE!? TEXAS!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME TEXAS!?!?!?!?? Indiana is 7-2. They’ve lost to Michigan State pre-massive collapse and Ohio State. GIVE ME A BREAK OH MY GOD.
Whatever. I hate the CFP and every member of the committee. This is a disaster.
