The IUPUI Jaguars are officially in the win column as they beat Non-Division 1 Spalding Golden Eagles 61-41. The Jaguars flexed their muscles by scoring the first 11 points of the game. While taking a commanding 33-10 lead into the halftime period. For the duration of the game, there was only 54 seconds of the 40 minutes that the Jaguars didn’t have the lead, and that time was spent at 0-0.

Troy Amanor, Tylan Mann, and Isaiah Lockard led all scorers with 11 points each respectively for the Golden Eagles. An impressive display as they had looked to spark a second half comeback. Spalding put in a valiant effort, but it was just too little too late. The Jaguars were led by Bakari LaStrap (10), but it was a collective effort as the eight others who got in the scoring column scored five or more points.

Coach Crenshaw finally gets his first win as Head Coach of his alma mater where he had a good playing career from 2004-2006. He sits as their all time leader in assists, while also hitting a half-court shot at the end of regulation to send them to their first and only NCAA Tournament appearance. It looks unlikely that they will be playing in the NCAA Tournament this year, but they do look to be playing with confidence and a lot of effort.
