Newman was in a battle with USC transfer JT Daniels, who was granted immediate eligibility this fall. If he would have won the job, Newman would have been considered to be one of the favorites to take home this yearโs Heisman Trophy. The former Wake Forest QB is the number three quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft class and the number eight player overall, according to rankings from CBS Sports.
