Kansas Basketball Schedule Released- Key Games to Watch

Kansas fans, it’s almost that time. Yes, our football team somehow turned it around to be an absolute juggernaut and probably the best team in a country according to some… (okay, according to me and only me, but Pooka Williams is going to win the Heisman and deserves a statue outside Memorial Stadium).

But, there is still that stronghold within the Jayhawks athletics and that’s Kansas basketball. After a Final Four run a year ago, the Jayhawks look to make an even further run in the tournament. Kansas doesn’t rebuild this year, they RELOAD. Check out their roster here.

The Jayhawks full schedule has just been released and I’m going to give you the best games to look forward too. (Even though I know Jayhawks fans get up for every games, these are the games we REALLY got to get up for.)

Michigan State

First game of the year. Primetime. Champion’s Classic. Time to show the nation how good we really are this year. And show them early.

NIT Season Tip-off

You know what? This is a tournament we should win and this shouldn’t be the only tournament we win all year, if you know what I mean. Let’s get that tournament experience in early.

Villanova

I mean, do I even have to say it? This Wildcats team knocked us out of the tournament two of the last three years. Time to show them what’s up on our home court.

Oklahoma

If we want to win 15 straight, we have to win the early ones… set the precedent. Kansas should beat up on an Oklahoma team in the conference opener at home, but they’re gonna need AFH rocking.

@ West Virginia

Before last year, Kansas had lost 4 straight in Morgantown. Thanks to Devonte Graham, that streak stopped last year. So let’s start our own streak this year. Let’s go for 2 in a row in Morgantown and solidify first stronghold in the conference.

@ Kentucky

This should be a top 5 matchup, even with it being at the end of January. Both teams are that good. The season turned around for the better 2 years ago when Josh Jackson and Frank Mason balled out in Lexington. Stealing one in Kentucky can really give you great momentum heading into the dreaded month of February.

@ Kansas State

I’m not going to lie here. Kansas State has a SOLID team coming back. But they’re still the younger brothers. They’re gonna come into this game, a big Monday game, and think they can end our conference streak. Can’t let that happen.

West Virginia

A sweep of West Virginia all but locks up 15 straight.

Baylor

Say goodbye to Lagerald Vick, Dedric Lawson, Udoka Azibuke and Quentin Grimes on Senior day and the last home game of the year in AFH. I know Vick is the only senior, but all those guys are going pro. Let’s hope the Big 12 is locked up by then, but if not, what better way is there to clinch it?
