KANSAS FOOTBALL IS GOING BOWLING

Cancel the Rutgers Scarlet Knights’ football program IMMEDIATELY.

55-14? Are you kidding me? KU just put up 55 points on a team that only allowed 52 to THE Ohio State. Urban Meyer on the hot seat?

My mind is scrambled. I just called the game for KJHK 90.7 FM – Lawrence and I’m currently waiting for David Beaty’s presser to begin. But my goodness, what a game.

DE – FENSE! *clap clap* DE – FENSE!

The defense picked off Rutgers freshman QB Arthur Sitkowski THREE times, which followed up a four INT performance against Central Michigan last week. Mike Lee and Bryce Tornedon returned their picks for six while Coe Harris’s took an acrobatic exertion which led him to the ground. Forcing a total of six takeaways, there was no let up from the Jayhawks.

Oh, the humanity.

Pooka Williams… 158 yards. Deron Thompson… 70 yards. Khalil Herbert… 64 yards. Dom Williams… 39 yards. A total of 400 yards on the ground for the Jayhawks. Who needs a passing game when you’re putting up 400!!! yards rushing?

Is Rutgers really this bad?

Yes. Kansas was favored, but just by three points. Sure, road environment, louder than normal for Family Weekend in Lawrence, freshman quarterback, but they were shutout for the entire second half. Even when it felt too close for comfort, it never really was within reach.

Turning point for KU?

The offense stagnated a bit, especially when given fantastic field position, but this is a statement win. 55-14 over a Big Ten opponent is massive for a struggling program, even if it is Rutgers. I’m giddy. Creates a totally different outlook on the 2018-19 season.

This was pure domination.

Rock Chalk Jayhawk, baby. Let’s roll Baylor in Waco next week!

PS. Sorry Carl, the S is gone forever. Viva La Rutger.
