Kiffin Agrees to Contract Extension with Ole Miss

Just hours ahead of their matchup against the No.11 Indiana Hoosiers in the 35th annual Outback Bowl, Ole Miss decided to reward Lane Kiffin. The Rebels ended up pulling off the upset in Tampa winning the game 26-20. Now Ole Miss is set to extend and give their head coach a raise.

His current contract is worth four years for $16.2 million. No details have been released about the new contract.

Lane Kiffin led the Rebels to their first bowl game and victory since they defeated Oklahoma State in the 2016 Sugar Bowl. Kiffin was able to lead the Rebels to a 5-5 record, including an Egg Bowl and Outback Bowl victory. He also helped the Ole Miss offense set numerous SEC records in only his first year in Oxford.

“We’ve just been talking about it for a while, (I) love it here, love the direction of the program, Keith (Carter) has been amazing to us.” Kiffin said after the game. “(He) has a great plan for the future here, we’re on the same page about we’re just getting started. We want to build a championship program and there’s a lot of things we need to do to do that.”
