Is LA Tech Playing Football or are they in a Cartoon?

I’m a little late to the party but let’s just say I’m arriving in style. Before I get into the play, the featured image is real! Even people who love the bejeezus out of football can admit that football can be an extremely stupid sport sometimes.

This…. this, was one of those times.

Second and goal should have been simple for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, who were wistfully trailing Mississippi State 57–14 early in the fourth quarter.

A botched snap and what was effectively a reverse fumblerooski led to whatever the hell this thing was. Which, is one of the dumbest, but also most entertaining things you’ll ever see in a Football game. Please enjoy the play down below if you haven’t seen it already :

The Bulldogs recovered at their own seven-yard line, which meant it was third and 93 (goal-to-go). Believe it or not, LA Tech did not score because….well….I’m sure you can figure out why. Just a quick side note, I LOVE how the announcer kept saying “It’s still loose”. You could tell in his voice he wanted to get up and just leave that game. I have no idea how this happens. First of all, if you were one of the Mississippi State players, HOW did you not easily scoop that ball up and walk it into the end zone. On the other side, I’m still super confused about how the snap was THAT high!(?)! But there was one plus about this play, that amazingly fast LA Tech player. Who literally came out of nowhere on the screen to get the ball, major props for the hustle, kid!

This was the official play-by-play on ESPN. It makes my head hurt just to look at it and try to comprehend the play.

It helped to show why I love twitter, too. Some amazing man named Braden decided to edit “Yakety Sax” into the video and IT. IS. AMAZING. Please take a gander for yourself and thank me later. I laugh every time I watch this:

If you want a good laugh as well, just go to Google Images and search “Louisana Tech 3rd and 93”. 8 of the first 12 pictures are just pure golden action shots of this astonishing play. Still, I hope this play never happens again…. especially not by LA Tech.
