Three time Pro-Bowl running back Le’Veon Bell was recently released from the New York Jets after just over one season with the team. The two time All-Pro inked a one year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs this evening. Contract details are expected to come out later tonight. *Updates will be provided*

Now Bell will be moving on from a winless New York team to the reigning Super Bowl champions. He was able to cut his choices down to three teams deciding between the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and Kansas City Chiefs. He chose the Chiefs because he believes it gives him the best chance at winning his first Lombardi Trophy.

Bell was able to play 15 games in his first season with New York but saw a tremendous drop-off, only managing to score four touchdowns. Those four scores ended up being his only ones as a Jet. Le’Veon failed to find the endzone in four games with them in 2020.

Friction with Jets coach, Adam Gase, certainly contributed to his departure. The two had their fair share of disagreements. Gase thought he was overpaying for a running back and Bell thought he wasn’t be utilized to his full potential.

He now joins a contending team with stable management from top to bottom. He also joins a team who has first round pick, Clyde Edwards Helaire who has shown solid production in his first year in the NFL. For the Chiefs signing Le’Veon doesn’t hurt them at all and gives them good depth at the running-back position. Bell could also be a mentor to the young runner in K.C.
