Record to Date: 17-18
Welcome to the final week of the college basketball regular season. Seems like it flew by, right? At this point, everyone is gearing up for the tournament and ready to go. Next week I may provide some locks for championship week, as well as some tournament picks in the week following. Until then, make some money with these.
Seton Hall at #13 Butler (-8.5)
Butler has consistently been one of the better teams in the country all season long and will be looking to continue their hot streak into Madison Square Garden. The Bulldogs are winners of their past four games, including road wins against Villanova and Xavier. Furthermore, Butler defeated Seton Hell by 7 points on the road in their last matchup. I think Butler stays hot.
St Francis vs Wagner (-5)
In honor of Championship Week and the Jerome, here is a small school game to keep an eye on today. These teams seem pretty evenly matched on paper, both having 11-7 conference records and swapping road victories with each other. Can’t say I have a great read on this game, but Wagner seems to have held close to some pretty good teams throughout the season. This one will probably be a two point game that comes down to free throws for a backdoor cover.
Wofford at Chattanooga (-1.5)
Another Jerome game on your slate for the day. For this SoCon Quarterfinal matchup. Chattanooga and Wofford will face off in Asheville, North Carolina. While the Mocs are only favored by a measly point and a half, in both prior matchups this season, Chattanooga has won by margins of 8 and 11 points. I have Chattanooga going all the way to the SoCon Championship.
Texas State (-1) at Louisiana Monroe
This may end up being the Vegas trap game of the week but oh well. I know nothing about either one of these teams besides the fact that Texas State is 17-12, including 10-7 in conference, compared to UL Monroe’s dazzling 8-22 (2-15) record. I know it’s at ULM, but I don’t see how the Bobcats don’t win.
#1 Kansas (+1) at Oklahoma State
Just your average case of the number one team in the country being underdogs. Oklahoma State is a decent team, but Kansas is on another level. I think Bill Self’s team is going to finish out the regular season strong in Stillwater.
