An 11 seed in the Final Four. I can’t remember a Cinderella story this good since Ron Baker took #9 Wichita State to the Final Four in 2013. In this years tournament there have been no shortage of upsets, but Loyola is the last Cinderella dancing, and I have some theories as to why.
First off, God is on their side. He could perhaps be favoring Loyola since they are a catholic school. We know Sister Jean is on their side. Perhaps she has lead such a perfect life that God is rewarding her basketball team.
Also, Magic. Now I’m not one to talk about conspiracies, but when Loyola Chicago fans all have their yellow and burgundy scarves, they all appear to be members of the Gryffindor House from Harry Potter. If it is true that Loyola is using magic to win, I am sure it is somehow an NCAA violation and the FBI could be on the scene in any minute.

Of course, it could just be their defense. The Ramblers are holding opponents to less than 63 points a game, which ranks 5th in the nation. What was that old saying? Defense wins championships?
Regardless of how they’re winning, I hope it keeps happening. Everyone loves a good Cinderella Story, and also I don’t think my heart could handle seeing an upset Sister Jean.
