Noooo! Not like this, Coach O! Florida? LSU’s defense has been so good all year, but it was a pick-6 that finally ended the Tigers’ perfect season bid. Joe Burrow couldn’t get it done through the air, throwing for 191 yards and two interceptions, including the pick-6 late in the fourth quarter. Nick Brosette scored both LSU touchdowns and added 95 yards to his impressive season, but it wasn’t enough as the offense couldn’t put the Gators away.
The Tigers were forced to punt eight times on Saturday due to their stagnant offense, but the Gators led the way with nine drives of their own ending in kicking in downfield. A purely defensive showdown that the Gators barely escaped with the victory.
Uh Eaux
The road doesn’t exactly get easier for the Tigers looking forward. After the disappointing finish yesterday, they host the College Football Playoff hopeful Georgia Bulldogs this upcoming Saturday and take on the reigning champion Crimson Tide in Baton Rouge just two weeks later.
If they can take care of business and defend their home field in Louisiana, they’ll have one helluva shot in the SEC Championship Game to make their way into the committee’s heart. Coach O ain’t backin’ down.
