The Miami Dolphins finished 2019 at 5-11 and look to improve in their second year under Brian Flores.
Returning Starters: 12 (5 offense/7 defense)

Miami Dolphins Season Outlook
Everyone who knows anything about football knows the Dolphins got a lot better this off-season. They deepened their entire defense, with key additions in the secondary, on the edge, and in the trenches. They have more or less replaced the entire offensive line, which was one of the worst in the history of football. Then added a potential 1-2 punch with Jordan Howard and Matt Breida. Also, they are getting key players like Preston Williams and Xavien Howard back from injury. And they got Fitzmagic.
So how do they compare with the rest of the division? Well there are the Jets, who are in complete disarray. The Patriots lost a lot of key contributors due to free agency, trades, or opting out for the season due to the pandemic. Then there’s the Bills, who despite losing some starters, will still post a pretty strong defense. So as it stands, it seems like it’s the Dolphins or the Bills will come out a division winner, unless Cam Newton plays like it’s 2015 and Bill Belichick has something up his sleeve. Barring massive injuries to one of these teams, the Jets will be in last place.
Their schedule is kind of top-heavy, playing Super Bowl contenders like the Chiefs, 49ers, and Seahawks. They also play the dysfunctional Jets twice, the weakened Patriots twice, the Jags, and the Bengals as well. With everyone else being in the playoff hunt.
A lot of people do think this team got a lot better and think they are set for the future, but aren’t ready to say they can compete this year. I think they can compete this year. The one thing that will determine how competitive they are is the continuity coming out of the gate. Like last year, there was a lot of turnover, but this time around there is a little more time, more chemistry and the talent is just simply better. The also have a great leader in Brian Flores, who definitely gets the best out of everyone.

Fantasy Player To Watch: Preston Williams
Preston Williams was probably the most underrated rookie WR last year. Part of that was that he was not on a very relevant team. The other part was he missed the last eight games of the season due to a torn ACL. In the eight games he did play he had he posted 428 yards and three touchdowns. Had he played the entire season–especially the last eight games where the passing game took a noticeable jump–he probably would have hit 1000 yards. With Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson opting to not play this season, Williams can see a big increase in his role and being a lock at WR2, barring injury.
