Michigan State AP Poll Preseason Ranking

Football is officially back. The preseason AP poll came out today which included seven Big Ten teams. Including the Michigan State Spartans who came in at the 18th spot. No one really knows how the Spartans are going to fair this season, considering the productivity of the offense last year. Michigan State’s defense will still be dominant, but you can’t win games if you don’t score. With this kind of uncertainty for the Spartans, the No. 18 slot in the AP poll is very kind.

Top 25 Matchups for Michigan State

The Spartans do not have a favorable schedule. They have four top 25 matchups with three of them being away from East Lansing. MSU will have a tough October where they will travel to Columbus to face No. 5 Ohio State. Then it’s right back on the road to face No. 19 Wisconsin. After the two tough road matchups the bye week comes at a great time. After the bye the No. 15 Nittany Lions come into town for a battle for the Land Grant Trophy. To round out the top 25 matchups the Spartans travel to Ann Arbor to play the No. 7 Michigan Wolverines. With this amount of big game matchups Michigan State will have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves to the nation.
