All Hail our new lord, a flavor saver savior, Gardner Minshew II, the new sheriff over in Leachville. After Luke Faulk, arguably one of the greatest QB’s in PAC-12 history left, this man wielding a mustache molded by Burt Reynolds himself (RIP) transferred from East Carolina University.

And baw gawd not only did he fill the void left, but he has grabbed this team and has them in Playoff contention now. In the preseason, everyone had either Washington, Stanford, or Oregon to be the kings of the PAC12. Well, UW basically lost it week one with a loss to Auburn, Stanford has looked like a dumpster fire, and Oregon not only lost to WSU, but the following week bit the bullet to Arizona. So, after a “shakey” loss to USC, the Cougars “control their own destiny” and have a legitimate shot at sneaking into the Playoff.

But less about the crappy PAC12 and more about Minshew. So, after he took down Stanford, who was ranked at the time, whispers began to swirl about Minshew being a Heisman player. But of course, the main argument coming from people was “WSU is an Air Raid system”…myself included. But once he absolutely shot down the Ducks, it began: #MinshewForHeisman

WSU has an “easy” path to the PAC12 Championship and it looks like Minshew will still be able to carve up teams like he has been doing to this point. So far, he leads the nation in passing yards, having 400 more than the next person on the list, while being 3rd in passing TDs while also using his legs when deemed necessary. WSU has Arizona, Cal, Colorado, and Washington left, with Cal and Washington being the only tough teams to give Minshew and Co. troubles.

So while I may or may not have hopped onto a September Heisman Bandwagon, I am fully confident on this October Bandwagon, and if not, then be on the look out for my inevitable November Tua Heisman post. Also, in honor of Movember coming up, I will be growing out the beautiful Stache and Flavor Saver combo in honor of Mr. Minshew.
