NBA Bet of the Night: 10/24/2022

Are you new to gambling? A veteran? A numbers nerd or always trusting your gut? No matter who you are, you’re looking for a bet to cash tonight. I have that bet for you.

Yesterday, we bypassed the NFL and preyed on a poor unsuspecting soul in Alec Bohm. He went hitless, like we needed, and was still victorious. He heads to the World Series, we profit, seems fair to me.

Record: 2-1, +1.31U (These are always responsible, one unit bets)

Background

I know what you’re thinking: “Are we are skipping the NFL on Monday Night Football?” Yes. Absolutely. While everyone and their mother tries to get the right same game parlay or unlikely touchdown scorer, we are setting our sights on the NBA. We are going to take advantage of a line with the books focused elsewhere and make a quality bet. I know that might not be very fun, but the point of these is to find a line that’s mispriced and use what we have available to put together a well thought out play.

The Bet: Jordan Clarkson O2.5 3-Point Makes (-102)

Our success rests on the shooting hand of Clarkson tonight. It’s early in the NBA season so far, but the Jazz have been a huge surprise at 3-0 while a young, struggling Rockets team is 0-3. The Rockets, through 3 games, are giving up the 3rd worst 3-point percentage with opponents shooting 42.9% against them. For the Jazz, as a team they’re shooting 38% from deep, good enough for 8th in the Association. However, it’s Clarkson in particular who has been awesome. Clarkson is 11-26 so far from outside, a 42% clip. Clarkson has hit this over in back-to-back games after going 7-12 and 3-10 against the Timberwolves and Pelicans, respectively. Look for double zero to put up number tonight in Houston.
