Unless you live under a rock you probably saw that the NCAA took the first steps to compensate their student-athletes today. There are a bunch of hot takes on twitter.com and everyone seems to have an opinion on this subject so no need to re-hash those. But… I have opinions on this tweet from Senator Richard Burr that need to be shared.
Richard Burr … What a guy!
This is one of the worst ideas I’ve ever seen from a politician, which is saying something since politicians consistently say stupid stuff.
The fact that he reacted this quickly to the NCAA’s decision astounds me. What about the things that actually matter, Senator? What about real-world problems that people pay you to fix? Really wish he and other politicians would introduce legislation for that stuff this quickly
But no. He’s too busy trying to tax broke college athletes than deal with the important stuff.
Not a great look here Mr. Burr. (side note: How pissed were Mack Brown and the other D-1 coaches in North Carolina when they read that tweet?)
Maybe someone can ask the Senator why he hates fun or why he’s so worried about how much money these athletes make when he has an estimated net worth of over $2 million dollars and gets paid to come up with moronic proposals like this.
