NHL Bet of the Night: 10/25/2022

Are you new to gambling? A veteran? A numbers nerd or always trusting your gut? No matter who you are, you’re looking for a bet to cash tonight. I have that bet for you.

I messed up yesterday. Hand up, that’s on me. I was not expecting Clarkson to get face guarded and get picked up just after half-court. That being said, Clarkson had made 2 from downtown already and had a step-back triple that bounced off the rim twice and rolled out with a few minutes left. With just over a minute left, Clarkson stepped out on a screen and had an open look that hit off the side iron and missed. An absolute heartbreaker.

Record: 2-2, +0.31U (These are always responsible, one-unit bets)

Background

I’m not going to pretend to know every line for every NHL team. In fact, I can correctly identify maybe 10-12 players by their headshots. Luckily, numbers and stats are something I can at least pretend I know how to apply to set up a chance at cashing a bet. Let’s take a look at the numbers for the Detroit Red Wings at home against the New Jersey Devils.

The Bet: Detroit Red Wings ML (-105)

First, I have to shout out Editor-In-Chief, Patrick Norton for the suggestion. I’m never opposed to a tip. I like this play for a few reasons. First, the Red Wings already beat the Devils in Newark 10 days ago. Second, the Red Wings have been great killing the power play so far this year and haven’t given up a power play goal. Lastly, the Devils played against the Caps in Washington D.C. last night. The Red Wings had the day off after a 5-1 home ice win against Anaheim. I really like the price on this ticket. What if we just put another in the win column? Why not us?
