The #1 Quarterback from the 2021 class, Caleb Williams, will be a Sooner. After verbally committing to the program back in July of 2020, he makes it official on National Signing Day. This is a huge signing for Oklahoma. Williams is an exceptional athlete, with above average arm strength. The Gonzaga High School Quarterback earned a .9971 ranking from 247sports, making him the #7 recruit in the Nation.
Williams had 22 other offers besides Oklahoma. Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, and Ohio State, to name a few. Lincoln Riley continues to grab talent at the Quarterback position. The current signal caller for the Sooners, Spencer Rattler, was the #1 Quarterback in the 2019 class.
With Freshman Quarterback Spencer Rattler under center right now for the Sooners, we should expect Williams to red-shirt. I’m sure Oklahoma will have a smooth transition between the two Quarterbacks in a few years, as they both have similar play-styles.
