As the College Basketball regular season and conference championship schedule blends together for the final two weeks leading into Selection Sunday, only three things seem certain one year removed from the tournament’s cancelation: Gonzaga is a #1 seed. Baylor is a #1 seed. Everything else is chaos.

Gonzaga’s unbeaten season comes at the price of doubters believing their conference allows the Bulldogs to skate freely to a perfect record. Baylor’s COVID-shortened season and subsequent regular season title leaves conference rivals out for blood Big 12 Tournament. But their ticket’s are all but officially punched, and come Selection Sunday, they’ll breathe easy with one seeds under their belt.

As for the final two spots, that’s where things get tricky. Illinois seems deserving after a 2-0 week with road victories against #2 Michigan and #7 Ohio State. Michigan felt like a lock, but slip-ups against #4 Illinois without their star guard Ayo Dosunmu, and unranked Michigan State have their top-seeded fate in jeopardy. Iowa could sneak through to snag the final spot in the top four, but it’ll require a decent showing in the Big Ten Tournament.

After the mess of Big Ten schools vying for the opportunity to headline a bracket, is Houston‘s AAC regular season championship enough to propel the mid-major all the way to the top? Maybe it takes the Big Ten “Big Ten-ing” all over themselves in the conference tournament for that to come to fruition. Or let’s get wild and imagine the Alabama Crimson Tide establish multi-sport dominance, flying under the radar, but securing a #1 seed in March with lots of skill, but even more luck.

We’re So Close!

More importantly than where everybody lands in the big bracket, regardless of who survives the first weekend, March Madness is back. It’s back on our screens, back with at least some fans in the stands, and it’s back for those that lay it on the line, competing their hearts out, leaving nothing on the table.

It’s almost that time, oh, that glorious time. A time to fill out brackets, a time to line our wallets, and a time to feverishly check odds of games between a #14 seed school you’ve never heard of before and their #3 seed opponent that you could “see getting upset early.” You can use this page to stay up to date on all College Basketball odd’s for this years tournament.

It’s almost time to take off of work early, rush to the recliner and let the cold one’s flow. It’s almost time for our time. March Madness is here
