Honorable Mentions
Colbie Young (Miami to Georiga)
Noah Rogers (Ohio State to Penn State)
Deion Wells (Purdue to Oklahoma)
5.) Juice Wells (South Carolina to Ole Miss)
Juice Wells was sidelined by an injury last year, limiting him to just three games. In his freshman season, he racked up 928 receiving yards on 68 receptions and scored 6 touchdowns. Now with Ole Miss, he is poised to become a favorite target for Jaxson Dart. Last season, Dart primarily focused on three main targets, and I believe that pattern will continue this season. In my opinion, Wells has the highest potential to surpass 1,000 receiving yards. Keep an eye on Wells as he emerges as Dart’s go-to receiver.
4.) London Humphreys (Vanderbilt to Georgia)
Humphreys is heading into his sophomore campaign and has hit the jackpot by moving from a struggling SEC team last season to a top contender in Georgia. Last season, Carson Beck threw for just under 4,000 passing yards, but none of his receivers surpassed 1,000 yards. Humphreys has the potential to change that and could become the next Ladd McConkey for this Bulldogs offense. Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 186 pounds, he can be a formidable threat out of the slot and could emerge as a big-time player for Georgia. Keep an eye on Humphreys this season down in Athens.
3.) Julian Fleming (Ohio State to Penn State)
Julian Fleming has played with a lot of talented receivers in his collegiate career. From Garrett Wilson to Marvin Harrison Jr., there has always been a lot of guys ahead of him on the depth chart. Now at Penn State he has the chance to breakout and show the scouts who he really is. In his collegiate career he only has 79 receptions to go along with 963 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. Fleming will be number one on the depth chart and will be Drew Allar’s favorite target. Look for Fleming to put up career highs this season with Drew Allar.
2.) Evan Stewart (Texas A&M to Oregon)
Evan Stewart has the potential to be a force at Oregon. In his collegiate career, he has 91 receptions to go along with 1,163 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns. He played at Texas A&M with some quarterbacks that didn’t allow him to show his true potential. Now playing for Dillion Gabriel and Oregon, he has a chance to breakout and plaster his name all over the draft boards of the NFL teams. Gabriel is arguably the best passing quarterback in the country. This helps Stewart’s stock and helps his numbers in 2024.
1.) Isaiah Bond (Alabama to Texas)
This is my number one wide receiver to come out of the transfer portal. Isaiah Bond is a big name for the Longhorns and he fills the void left by Xavier Worthy and/or Adonai Mitchell. In his collegiate career, Bond has 65 receptions to go along with 888 receiving yards and 5 touchdowns. He gets a quarterback upgrade in my opinion, which helps his value. He also has the chance to improve his draft stock playing for a system like Texas has implemented. Look for Bond to breakout and show the world why he made a great decision transferring to Texas.
