Remember When Ohio State Was Good At Basketball?

I mean, the fall of the Ohio State basketball team over a one month span has been absolutely brutal to watch unfold.

Ohio State just got demolished by Wisconsin 70-57 on Sunday, falling to a record of 15-8 and 5-7 in the Big Ten.

Not too long ago, Ohio State defeated Kentucky 71-65 in Vegas and shot up to as high as number two in the country.

After that win, Ohio State held victories over Villanova, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Cincinnati.

Now the sky is falling. Since the loss to West Virginia in Cleveland, they have been wildly inconsistent. They cant make jumpers, Kaleb Wesson disappears way too often, and they don’t have that “one dude” they would always have in prior seasons.

In previous years, they had Aaron Craft, Jared Sullinger, Deshaun Thomas, D’Angelo Russell, or even Mike Conley

Let’s not be fooled, Ohio State is in a much better place than the final years of Thad Matta. But this has been a massive disappointment in the second half of the season.

Ohio State has been able to pick up some highly ranked recruits in D.J. Carton (who is currently on a leave from the team), Alonzo Gaffney, and E.J. Liddell, all of which are four-star recruits.

Chris Holtmann has done a nice job recruiting, has made the tournament twice, and has racked up some big wins in his short time in Columbus. But it is time to start seeing a consistent basketball team,
