Remember those movies you watched as a kid or the books you read growing up where everything falls into place perfectly? Let’s just say that is exactly what happened last Saturday for the Texas A&M vs Tennessee game. This was a SEC top 10 match up with College GameDay in attendance. That means that the tailgating scene was going to be bigger than usually. SECYouAtKyleField had to pull out all the stops in order to be ready for the game and they did. For food they decided to make a 110 pound hog at the tailgate. This had to of been one of my favorite things to ever eat at a tailgate. They showed up at 4:30 am at the tailgate spot and started to cook in a caja chine box so they could cook it for 6 hours. When it was done, it was so good that I had to go back for seconds. Lets backtrack for just one second, I said that College GameDay was there which was huge but SEC Nation was also there too. To makes things even better Laura Rutledge was there and she came into the SECYouAtKyleField tailgate and filmed the opening of SEC Nation. She was super cool, plus she is a very attractive woman which makes it even more awesome that she choose THIS tailgate to be on TV. That all happened before it was even 10:00 AM. It really created a buzz that would only grow as we got closer to the 2:30 kickoff.
As usual there were many good games of corn hole being played and lots of people having a great time. The TV had the highly anticipated RRS on because it is the BIG 12 conference game of the year, being played at 11:00 am, on FS1. This was good game to play drinking games with, like take a drink every time one of those defenses miss a tackle. This game became way to dangerous so we had to stop (HA HA okay I’m done making fun). Back at the tailgate, I remember blinking my eye and all of a sudden the playlist had changed and this has become a massive dance party. People were dancing on the coolers, having dance offs with each other and everyone was just having a great time. So many people were at this tailgate. People would be walking by and seeing how fun everyone was having and they would join in. Things really exploded when “Fireball” came on. It is always fun to watch people who have never been to this tailgate before and see how they react. It is always exciting to get new people to join the fun! Also, since it went so well with the first handle, the tailgate supplied everyone with a second. 2:00 came screaming out of nowhere and it was time to head into the game. But that did not mean the party had to end. Texas A&M won the game, though I think my hair turned grey in the process. The Aggies broke many curses on Saturday: Winning on GameDay for the first time, winning our Maroon Out game, winning a big SEC game at home, finally getting over that 5-0 hump. Saturday was a great day to be an Aggie and it proved that this team could be something special. After the game ended everyone rushed back to the tailgate and the party continued. This time they had karaoke for everyone to enjoy. This was without a doubt the best tailgate I have ever been too and cannot wait for the rest of the home games in Aggieland.
