With the first round completed for one side of the Student Union 64-team CFP, we move to the east region. This bracket is led by Georgia, Ohio State, UCF and Michigan State. So far, there’s been just a pair of significant upsets, with Michigan and TCU going down in the first round. For previous results, see the full schedule at the end of this post.
Running out of time fast for a 16 seed to shock the world.
Minor upset here as another 8-seed goes down at home, setting up an SEC East matchup in the second round.
At least Navy did Navy things and ran for 327 yards.
Tough to see this game being a blowout in real life, although Quinton Flowers’ stat line isn’t so outrageous once he gets away from AAC defenses.
McKenzie Milton, on the other hand: he’s good.
Could have called this one a toss-up from the start. Drew Lock: 18-31, 377 yards, 3 TD, 1 Int. Is the SEC East back?
Everyone’s two favorite college sports teams. Predictably a blowout but this game was AWESOME for this reason only:
We’re all worse off without Lamar in this tournament.
A bit more active with upsets in this bracket, but the top five seeds all roll through with no problem. We could be setting up for a UCF-Ohio State game which would be lots of fun, although UCF might have to beat Missouri 60-56 first to get there. Really a pretty awful showing from the ACC, whose hopes are riding now with Clemson and The U.
