The 2022 MLB All-Star game was a huge success. Fans and players alike were treated to a great game and a great show. The night was filled with players that wore microphones, custom gloves, and some big blasts.
Nowadays, the All-Star game doesn’t count towards home-field advantage. This allows the players to just have fun out there. In order to increase fan interest, baseball had some of the players wear microphones and interviewed them during the game. This created some awesome moments.
The American League Dominated (again)
Almost every highlight on television was made by the American League, with a custom glove worn by Nestor Cortes and home runs from Giancarlo Stanton and Byron Buxton. The National League put up a fight, but they were no match for the bats of the AL.
The AL ended up winning the game 3-2 as the NL countered with an RBI single from Mookie Betts and a home run from Paul Goldschmidt. Stanton, who is a California native, ended up taking home the hardware with his first All-Star game MVP.
One of the best yet
Regardless of who ended up winning, it was an All-Star game worth remembering with players having fun and the game’s best on display for the world to watch. MLB knew how to make a game that didn’t matter entertaining and fun for the players and fans.
The next significant event that could come close to this year’s Field Of Dreams game doesn’t look to have too much hype surrounding it.
That matchup will feature the Cubs and the Reds, and both are looking at rebuilding their ball clubs. The trade deadline coming before that could also make matters worse. However, if MLB took their own notes on what made this All-Star game special, then they should have no problem with that game coming up.
