If you don’t follow me on Twitter, boy have you missed out on some college football winners.
What an amazing start to the college football season for the Don! We’re off to a 14-2 (+12.18u) record, hitting 87.5% of our bets so far this season. The only thing keeping us from perfection last week was a missed Minnesota field goal. We’ve got a great weekend of games ahead, but we’re zeroing in on one game this Friday night. With that said, here’s my best bet for College Football Friday night’s slate:
Duke vs Northwestern (-2.5) (O/U 37.5)
Both offenses struggled in Week 1, but the defenses looked solid in their opening victories. With both teams starting new quarterbacks, it’s clear they’ve still got work to do. However, I’d trust Maalik Murphy over Mike Wright. Northwestern has Cam Porter, who I love, but their offensive line needs improvement. Duke’s rushing attack couldn’t get much worse, so it can only go up from here. Both offenses have room for growth, but here are the trends and my best bet:
Betting Trends:
- The over is 7-1 in Duke’s last eight road games.
- Duke is 5-0 ATS and SU in the last five meetings against Northwestern.
- Northwestern is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Week 2 matchups.
- The under is 5-1 in Northwestern’s last 6 games.
The Don’s Best Bet:
I’m taking Duke +108 for one unit in this matchup. Northwestern hasn’t started the season 2-0 ATS since 2015. The weather doesn’t look promising, with winds expected between 15 to 20 mph. I like Duke’s offense better than Northwestern’s, and I believe Duke will run the ball, control the time of possession, and win this game outright on Friday night.
