We are now 3-2 on the week and our best bet record is up to 18-13 (+4.99u). Hitting at 58% on our best bets is a good percentage for us. Tonight, we have a fantastic AAC matchup between two good teams. Can’t wait for this one and with that being said here is my best bet for the Friday Night slate of games.
Tulane (-4.5) vs Memphis (O/U 56.5) 7:00 PM EST
We have a great AAC matchup here between the Tulane Green Wave and the Memphis Tigers. Tulane’s offense hasn’t been as great as it was a season ago; however, they are still producing. They average 405.2 total yards of offense per game and average just under 30 points per game. This Green Wave offense is led by quarterback Michael Pratt, who has thrown for 668 passing yards along with 8 touchdowns and 1 interception.
Defensively, the Green Wave is very good. They allow 84.2 rushing yards per game, which is 19th in the nation, and they allow 343.2 total yards of offense per game, ranking 81st in the country. Tulane also allows opponents to convert only 31.8% of third downs. This Green Wave team has won each of its four games by double digits. They will need to maintain the same energy if they want to stop this Memphis defense on the road.
Memphis’ offense is one of the highest-scoring offenses in the country. They average 36.6 points per game, which is tied for 18th in the country. The Tigers average 448 total yards of offense per game, ranking 47th in the country. Memphis’s passing attack is the best part of this offense and is led by quarterback Seth Henigan. Henigan has thrown for 1,376 passing yards, along with 10 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. This Memphis offense is locked and loaded and ready for a fight against this Tulane defense.
Defensively, Memphis is good against the pass and decent against the run. They allow 21.4 points per game, along with allowing 374.4 total yards of offense per game. Memphis gives up 210.8 passing yards per game and aims to contain Michael Pratt as they did in last year’s loss to Tulane. Memphis has been better at home defensively this year. In three home games, they’ve won all three and secured tough victories against Navy and Boise State. In my opinion, this game will remain competitive until the end.

The Don’s Best Bet
I am taking over 54.5 at -110 odds for one unit. This Memphis team has hit the over in all three home games this season. I get the feeling that both of these offenses will be in high gear, and it could be a challenge to contain each other. This game seems like it’s destined for a 30-27 victory for Tulane. I can’t pick a side, so I’m leaning towards taking the over 54.5 as my top bet.
