On Sunday, December 2nd we saw what many deemed impossible. The legendary, vampire man Bill Snyder retired from coaching Kansas State. In his legendary 27 year career, he accumulated 215 wins-117 losses-and a single tie. 

His career includes 19 bowl game appearances, ending with a bowl record of 9-10. With wins in the Copper, Holiday (x3), Fiesta, Cotton, Buffalo Wild Wings, Texas, and Cactus bowls. He led 10 of those teams to top 10 rankings in the AP Poll at some point during the year. In his retirement he leaves Kansas State as the winningest coach in school history.

Many of the Manhattan residents consider him to BE Kansas State football. His first year coaching at KState the program was in turmoil. Until Snyder came, the program only had TEN seasons of above .500 football. In his first 14 years alone he had gathered 10 seasons of .500 and above football, 

The post Bill-era will first be decided on who comes in to replace such a legend. Rumors have swirled that Bret Bielema (last coached at Arkansas) and Seth Littrell (University of North Texas) are the top candidates to receive the position. They will have some big shoes to fill replacing the man that revolutionized the way Kansas State football is perceived.
