It’s already week 10 and we have just over a month left in the College Football Playoff race. The pressure is on and I can already tell it is going to be a wild ride! This weekend is no exception, with a ton of “make or break” games this weekend, you’re not going to want to miss it. So, to get you all amped up I’ve got some expert takes(that’s probably a bit of a stretch) on the weekend’s biggest games.
#10 Nebraska vs. #6 Ohio State
After a scare, last weekend against Northwestern, Ohio State will look to get back to their dominating level of play we saw earlier this year. Even after a rough past two weeks, OSU is one of those teams that can massacre a team when nobody expects it. The #8 rushing offense and #5 pass defense in the country. Enough said. Nebraska is a wildcard right now as the only tough competition they’ve played was Wiscy last weekend and they lost to em’ in OT. Other than that the Cornhuskers have looked like a top ten team. Oh and Tommy Armstrong? Stud. This game has a 16 point spread, but I expect it to be right down to the wire.
Prediction: Tommy Armstrong is gonna ball but OSU will get a close win and gain some momentum going forward.
#1 Alabama vs. #13 LSU
I swear to you it feels like every week Alabama is in one of the top games of the week. Not only are they seemingly always playing in a top matchup, they are always winning those matchups too. Nick Saban’s tide is on fire right now and LSU should prove to be nothing for them. The key word in that last sentence is “should”, and I say this because Leonard Fournette is a mad man with the ball and if anyone could actually beat the Tide’s defense it would be Fournette.
Prediction: Alabama rolls LSU but Fournette has a decent showing.
#11 Florida vs. Arkansas
Tough decision of which game I’d select as my final “top game” but I know how good both teams have been and I see this one as being a really good matchup. Look the Gators’ record speaks for itself at 6-1 with their only loss being to Josh Dobbs and Tennessee and their defense has been ridiculous. That defense is #2 defense in pass yards allowed and #23 in rushing yards allowed; it’s safe to say the defense gives their fans plenty of reason for “Gator Chomps”. Arkansas meanwhile, is coming off a huge loss to Auburn in a game nobody expected to be so brutal. The truth here is Arkansas is a hell of a lot better than what we saw last week and they’ve gotta be more pissed off than my parents when they saw my GPA this semester. I see the Hogs coming out strong on Saturday!
Prediction: Arkansas will play better this week but Florida’s defense will hold strong for a close win.
Quick Hits:
Iowa over #12 Penn State- I would call this an upset, but Iowa is better than we think. Penn State’s hot streak will end!
Washington blows out Cal- Some people are expecting Cal to give the Huskies a run for their money. Not me. Washington is filthy good… I mean filthier than a blind man’s toilet good.
Georgia over Kentucky- UGA will get back on track with a nice W over the wildcats.
UM blows out Maryland- Jim Harbaugh is someone I really do not like, as you can tell from my snapchats , but regardless he’s a great coach and he’ll annihilate Maryland this weekend.
Northwestern gives Wiscy a run for their money but UW wins- Northwestern is dangerous right now (just ask Ohio State) and it wouldn’t surprise me to see an upset but I think UW holds on.
Alright you crazies, go out and get super tanked and take in some college football. Maybe just maybe Sparty can even get a win over Illinois?!
