How’s it goin’ guys?! I hope your livers have recovered from last weekend and you’re as ready for week 4 as I am. I finally found my pants, and I’m ready for another awesome week 4 as we have some fucking awesome matchups this week that are MUST WATCH games. Let’s dive into em’.
Chris’ MUST WATCH Games for the Weekend:
#8 Michigan State vs. #11 Wisconsin
Let’s just start by saying damn it feels great to be a Spartan after MSU beat Deshone Kizer and the Fighting Irish last weekend. After being predicted to lose by nearly every analyst, the Spartans went to South Bend and took care of business. The defense was stellar for the majority of the game and 5th-year Senior Tyler O’Connor stepped up big when the Spartans needed him most, throwing for 240 yards and 2 scores, adding 43 yards on the ground. On a side note, I also stepped up when Tyler O’Connor needed me most on Friday, going undefeated as his euchre partner for the trip to ND. You could say me and him are boys now.
The Badgers had a lot of fans scared last week with a WAY too close win over Georgia State, but hear me out when I say the Badgers can play! The Badgers had a major win over LSU to open the season and molly whopped Akron two weeks back. Their QB situation is up in the air, but RB Corey Clement is the go-to guy in Madison, and if he’s healthy this week(questionable as of now) the Spartans better be ready, because he is the type of back that can burn you like a shot of moonshine. The Wisconsin defense is ranked 13th in the country in total defense, which will be the toughest defense the Spartans have faced this year, which could cause major problems.
With that said, I think this week Wisconsin will come out strong and hang in there for the first half, but by the second half when MSU amps it up, Wisconsin won’t be able to hang, and MSU will end up putting them to bed like a drunken freshman. Sparty on.
#12 Georgia vs. #23 Ole Miss
The Dawgs started off their season with a bang taking down the North Carolina Tarheels in convincing fashion, but since that game, they’ve sputtered along barely beating FCS Nicholls State and Missouri. Though let’s not forget the fact that they are still undefeated and they still got stud RB Nick Chubb. With Chubb running all over defenses as well as true freshman Jacob Eason starting to really settle in at QB, Georgia is gonna be fucking dangerous as they look to show out on Saturday.
Ole Miss on the other hand, has played some damn good football against two solid teams and one really bad team but has gotten only one win out of three(sounds a lot like my success rate “hitting on” the ladies). Before you count out Ole Miss, though, remember that Chad “Swag” Kelly is still the best QB in the SEC and Ole Miss is still a team that can hang in there with any team in the nation. This is a prime situation for Ole Miss to upset the Bulldogs when you add in the fact they have home field advantage.
With a lot of people doubting how good both Georgia and Ole Miss actually are, I see this one turning out to be an offensive shootout, and I think Chad “Swag” Kelly will have a big game. BUT Ole Miss has struggled a lot against the run this year and I see Nick Chubb dominating that poor rush defense in a YUGE win for Georgia. Go Dawgs!
#10 Texas A&M vs. #17 Arkansas
To begin their SEC-West play Arkansas is going to have an incredibly tough matchup in Texas A&M, but don’t let that fool you. Arkansas has already beat TCU and on Saturday night they’re bringing one hell of a rushing offense led by sophomore Rawleigh Williams who’s been great through their first few games. Their QB Austin Allen has been grooming underneath his brother the past two seasons, and as a junior this year he’s already shown that he’s got some big fucking balls, pounding home a 2OT touchdown to beat TCU just two weeks ago. Coming off a 42-3 beatdown over Texas State, Arkansas wants to start their SEC schedule off with a big win, and they’ve got the pieces to do it.
With Texas A&M their most impressive part of their game so far has gotta be their defense. The Aggies have got Myles Garrett, one of the best DE in the whole damn country, who finished last season with 12.5 sacks. With the help of Garrett mauling QB’s like a fucking grizzly bear, the Aggies have held teams to right around 13 points per game–Newsflash: That’s really fucking good. Defense isn’t all the Aggies can do though, they also have a solid QB in Trevor Knight. Knight has thrown for 800+ yards already, adding another 150 yards rushing. If the Aggies win this one, expect Knight to be a key factor in the win.
As much as Texas A&M has shown me they are the real deal on defense, my gut feeling is telling me that with Arkansas RB Rawleigh Williams averaging 118 yards per game this season, I think he’s going to have another big game alongside Austin Allen, and the Razorbacks will surprise everyone by taking down the Aggies in AT&T Stadium Saturday night. WOOOO PIG SOOIE!
#14 Tennessee vs. #19 Florida
The Vols enter this weekend undefeated, but it should be noted they’ve looked awfully shaky in a few of their wins. With dual-threat QB Josh Dobbs and RB Jalen Hurd leading the Tennessee offense, the Vols can be very hard to contain SOMETIMES, but they don’t always play up to their capability and this will prove to be an important factor against Florida. Although they’ve had some close wins, their defense has been awesome this year, not letting up much scoring & keeping them in the game every single week.
But, as far as defense goes, the Gators trump Tennessee in this one by far. The Gators have given up just 14 points over the whole season and held North Texas to only 53 yards on the day. Yes, you read that right, 53 yards over the whole day, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? That is insane. The Gators were doing great with QB Luke Del Rio under center, but he was injured in last week’s game, and now the offense will be on the shoulders of former Purdue QB Austin Appleby. Appleby is 2-9 as a starter but then again he did play for Purdue for God’s sake and Purdue is trash.
Josh Dobbs is very talented and the Vols have taken care of business thus far, but they have played shit teams so far and Florida’s defense is going to be way too much for the Vols to handle. I don’t expect Austin Appleby to have a great game for Florida, but I’ve got the Gators winning this one in a defensive battle.
Well, that’s all folks! Remember, always hit the tailgate hard and have fun watching the games this weekend. Stay lit my friends.
