After claiming defeating Auburn on Monday in the Peach Bowl and competing a perfect 13-0 season, the University of Central Florida made a stunning announcement:
Perfection achieved. ?#ChargeOn pic.twitter.com/cLJb8MrJLw

While somewhat harmless, this takes us back to the days of old when teams used to just claim championships when they thought they were the best team. There is a reason we have a champioonship format in place nowadays. UCF doesn’t seem to care and kept throwing shade at the playoff committee for not including them. Just when you thought this fun little story might be done, the Knights doubled down on their national championship claim with this:
UCF AD Danny White says #UCF will be hanging a National Championship banner at Spectrum Stadium.

WOAH. Doesn’t seem like UCF is gonna let this go. Maybe by taunting the committee they will get some kind of reform to be passed to give G5 teams a chance in the future. Or, maybe this is just a motivational tactic for next year’s team. What will UCF do next? Championship rings? Who knows, but I aspire to be as petty as UCF one day.
