Oh, Urban Meyer Messages are Wild

And Zach Smith is here!

Earlier today, Ohio State released 2,000 pages worth of documents pertaining to last year’s investigation of both Urban Meyer and Zach Smith. Most of us likely thought this sage was over, but once again, we are going to be disappointed.

Firstly, the majority of the messages are from Urban Meyer, with appearances from Zach Smith and someone by the name of Tim Knight. Much of the report is redacted, with most of the messages dealing with recruiting and the aftermath of Smith being let go. In addition, we are also shown some shade toward Texas HC Tom Herman

The Urban Meyer Messages

Wonder what “Bump” means?

Well here is a chain of messages between Meyer and Zach Smith. “Bump” would seem to maybe hint at some sort of recruiting violation, but it is hard to tell. Whatever it is, it is obvious that Meyer was worried about the implications involving Texas, which does not seem to be a good sign for the recruiting practices of the Buckeyes.

….Sigh….

Okay, Urban, no the hell you weren’t. It has already been established that Meyer had at least some knowledge of Smith’s past transgressions. This also seems to be in the aftermath of Smith’s firing.

A Wild Saban Appears

Up next, the implication is that some dumbass offered Smith (who by all accounts, was not a good coach) a job. What happened next was Meyer “talking” Smith into staying at his current job, with the promise of “win this shit again” (we all saw how that worked out).

Oh S$!t!

Well hello, Nick Saban. On the bright side, this seems to confirm the long held belief that Saban and Meyer despise each other. But hell, can we imagine a world where this whole mess is dumped on Saban? That man would have lost his mind. He would have ripped off Tosh Lupoi’s head in like week three, it would have been glorious.

Big Yikes

So he basically admits he knew. Urban, buddy, pal, this is a bad look. All of these messages are damning. If Urban hadn’t actually already “retired” he may be in some trouble. Fortunately for him, he has ridden off into the sunset. At least until USC fires Clay Helton.

Personally, I will miss making fun of Urban and Smith, because they have given me great content over the the past year. But mostly just Urban, because I doubt this is the last we hear of Smith.
