Week Four Points of Interest

The points of interest is back. This is essentially just me rambling about the things I’m most interested this week.

He’s got a great personality!

Clay Helton could be the nicest guy in the world. This is a lot like when your pal really tries to sell you on some girl and that’s just about all they’ve got going for ’em. Nice as hell, just not cut out to be the head coach at USC. Neither of them are.

USC plays Utah on Friday night. They’re probably not going to win that game. If they don’t, Helton’s days are numbered. If they do win, his days are probably still numbered.

Never lose to BYU, kids.

Sell Sell Sell!!!!

All of that nice Big Ten stock you had. Michigan State is bad. Purdue is awful. Idk what Minnesota, Michigan, Northwestern or Penn State are.

I’d like to think that Ohio State is the best team in the conference and that Iowa and Wisconsin are comfortably in that second-tier of the Big Ten right now.

Michigan gets a chance to get some serious respect as they travel to Madison this weekend. I think Wisconsin wins that as #HomeDawgs.

The PAC-12 is Bad

But there’s still plenty of intrigue! They’ve got a nice little group of teams in the middle-tier of that conference. Cal, Arizona State and Washington State are all good football teams.

Cal travels to Ole Miss, I like them in that one. They’ve got one of the best defenses you’ve never heard of.

Arizona State gets Colorado at home. It’d be so on brand for MSU if the Sun Devils blow that game.

Washington State plays the fighting Chip Kellys! #NoPunts Coogs by 50.

Random Things

Boston College scheduled both Kansas AND Rutgers for the same season. The two worst P5 schools of the last decade. They’re 0-1 in those games coming off a loss against Kansas. At home.

Indiana and UCONN are playing each other in football. Remember when they were elite basketball programs?

I might be able to talk myself into Tennessee beating Florida.

Wake Forest is the best team in the state of North Carolina.

Oregon-Stanford has lost the luster it had ten years ago. But it can still get weird.

UCLA is going to get assblasted by Wazzu.

Fun Fax

Texas has not beaten Oklahoma State in Austin since 2008. In fact, they’ve beaten Oklahoma State just twice since 2009.

Michigan State has not beaten Northwestern since 2013. Since then, Northwestern has won the last three. Two of those matchups have been in East Lansing.

Notre Dame has never beaten Georgia. Saturday will be the first time these two teams play in Athens.

Actual Fun Fax

64% of Canada’s population lives south of Seattle.

Betty White was 9 when Thomas Edison died.

The tenth president of the United States, John Tyler, has two living grandchildren.

The Eiffel Tower was inaugurated in the year 1889. The same year that Nintendo, Coca Cola, and the Wall Street Journal were founded. Vincent Van Gogh painted The Starry Night that year. Also, Adolf Hitler was born.
