The Boston College Eagles are in a position where they won’t make a run at the ACC title game, but they could be a thorn in the ACC’s side. The Jeff Hafley era hasn’t been what Eagles fans would it like to have been so far. Even though last season was the worst season Hafley had, this team this year has a lot of promise. Here is the preview for the 2023 Boston College football team.
Offense
The Boston College offense is getting a new starting quarterback as Phil Jurkovec transferred to Pittsburgh. BC looks to be going with redshirt sophomore Emmett Morehead, who has some promise. He won’t use his legs a ton, but we saw in the last month of the season last year that he can sling it up and down the field.
Boston College did get a fantastic transfer at the wide receiver position in Ryan O’Keefe from UCF. O’Keefe in his last two seasons at UCF had 157 receptions to go along with 1,537 receiving yards and 12 receiving touchdowns. The Eagles offensive line really needs to stay healthy this year. If they stay healthy, this offense will be a good one.
Defense
The big thing they needed was to get players that can stop the run. Boston College brought in George Rooks from Michigan and he’s going to make a real impact for the Eagles front seven. BC’s linebacker core is very good and will be tackling machines. Their secondary will also be really good as well. If this defense can stop the run, they will be a team to watch in the ACC.
Win Total Prediction
The win total is set at 5.5 on the DraftKings Sportsbook. The over is set at -120 odds and the under is set at +100 odds. Boston College’s biggest issue is going to be health. If they stay healthy they will go over this win total. I am going to believe that they will stay healthy and I am taking over 5.5 wins at -120 odds for 1 unit. Ride the Eagles as they should be a bowl team in 2023.
