WWJD: What Would Jalen Do?

Last night was an incredible night for college sports, and the world in general, as a 19 year old, true freshman quarterback stole the show from the Georgia Bulldogs. Georgia was leading for the entire game, only to have their dreams smashed by a 19 year-old who could be viewed as the college football version of a toddler in the eyes of many.

The most impressive and respectable thing from last night was the way that Jalen Hurts responded to everything in the moment. He was not acting in any ill fashion last night, because the kid is a great teammate and a better leader. He proved to the world that anyone who pouts and sits out after being pulled is not mature enough to see the bigger picture and is acting incredibly selfish.

You want to know why Alabama won last night? Jalen Hurts is the reason Alabama won last night. Alabama had a special arm in waiting and the starting quarterback had his back for the entirety of the game, as he watched the team that he brought there, ride out of Atlanta as champions.

What’s Next?

I’ll tell ya this, Jalen Hurts is too much of a true football player to not go to bed every night and dream about the moments he could have had, and he wants to start another football game. With Tua there… I don’t think he has that opportunity while he is still in school.

Jalen may be the best teammate in the world, and loves Tuscaloosa, loves Nick Saban, he loves all of it, but the one thing he loves more than all of those things is football. Not being able to start is a whole different set of emotions when you’ve been handed the job your first two years. Maybe this brings a higher competitive nature out of him to want to win the job back. Maybe he comes out in the spring and absolutely “Balls out”, as he told Tua before he entered the game.

Who knows what happens, but I think he’s gone.

Destinations?

Michigan. Strictly because I saw this Tweet.

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Jim were sitting in Jalen’s front yard in a lawn chair, outside of a tent, roasting mallows when Jalen arrives home.

UCLA. Do you think Chip Kelly would go after Jalen? I do.

Texas... I guess. He’s from Texas, so you always have to throw out the potential, “Homecoming” take.

Clemson. I mean hey, if you can’t beat em, join em right @KD?
